Your Future Employer
The Swedish Forest Agency is looking for someone who wants to work as a forest consultant with a primary focus on supervision, which includes logging notifications, applications, and consultations.
We are now seeking a consultant for the Dalarna district as part of strengthening our work with supervision according to the Forestry Act and the Environmental Code. You will have a lot of contact with landowners and employees in the forestry sector, as well as with other stakeholders related to the forest. As a forest consultant, you will have a job with varied and stimulating tasks and ongoing professional development. You will be part of a workgroup with other experienced supervision officers. You will work in a larger geography since we are a national authority.
About the Dalarna District
The geographical area of the district covers the entire Dalarna County. The district has 27 employees stationed at the district offices located in Falun, Hedemora, Leksand, Malung, and Mora. The district's tasks include various governmental responsibilities such as supervision, protection, and management of areas with high natural values, inventories, and advisory services. The district also works on assignments for external clients, including training.
Job Responsibilities
Initially, you will primarily work with processing logging notifications and supervision according to the Forestry Act and the Environmental Code. The tasks are mainly performed in the office, but fieldwork also occurs. The work involves contacts with forest owners, other active players in forestry, and relevant authorities and organizations. As an employee at the Swedish Forest Agency, you are expected to contribute to the development of our operations.
Depending on your skills, focus, and the needs of the organization, other work may also become relevant. Examples of this may include participating in advisory activities, inventories, various projects, or our assignment operations. In the work, you may need to work over a larger geography, which may require some travel.
Qualifications
You have a forestry or natural science university education or another relevant education with associated experience in our field. Relevant work experience is an advantage. We prefer that you have experience in forest production, forestry conservation issues, and knowledge of forest-dwelling species. Experience in regulatory authority and administrative law is advantageous, as well as experience and knowledge in the legal field. We value good knowledge in IT/GIS.
We place great importance on your personal qualities. You plan, organize, and prioritize your work well. You are thoughtful and analytical and have the ability to weigh complex information and take responsibility for driving your cases forward. The ongoing legal development within the Swedish Forest Agency's supervisory work may lead to changes in the content of the tasks, which requires high flexibility. You are communicative, pedagogical, and can engage in a trusting dialogue with landowners, various actors, and stakeholders in the forestry sector.
You have a value base and integrity that allows you to identify with the demands that the role of a civil servant entails. You should meet and engage in dialogue with people in various situations in a trustworthy and respectful manner.
A B driver's license (manual) is a requirement.
Conditions
We offer a permanent position at 100% that begins with a 6-month probationary period. The start date is as soon as possible or by agreement.
We apply individual salary setting, remote work agreements, and trust-based working hours.
Stationing in Hedemora or Falun.
Welcome with your application by April 21!
